This is a site for launching hand-carried boats such as canoes or kayaks.
Description & Overview:
This was once simply the southern part of Beach Pond until the causeway got built and cut the pond in two. There is now no connection under the causeway that a boat can get through. The former state beach can be used to launch hand-carried boats into the main part of Beach Pond and across Route 165 is this smaller put-in for the southern part of Beach Pond.
At 57 acres, the southern part is still a good size lake, but it is much smaller than the main part of Beach Pond, which covers 430 acres.
Aside from the road, almost the entire shoreline of Deep Pond is within Arcadia Management Area and is wooded and undeveloped. However, Route 165 is busy and noisy and never far away on Deep Pond.
This site provides access to the following water bodies: Beach Pond.
