This is a site for launching hand-carried boats such as canoes or kayaks.
Description & Overview:
This new access point provides access to the Town River between War Memorial Park and Reynolds Landing. It is about 1/2 mile downstream from War Memorial Park and 1 mile upstream from Reynolds Landing. The river should be quiet in this area and easy to paddling in either direction.
This site provides access to the following water bodies in the Taunton River watershed: Town River.
Location:
Town: West Bridgewater
Driving Landmarks: Trucchi's Landing is right on Route 106 (East Center St.), 0.3 miles east of the junction with Route 28 in West Bridgewater. Look for a grassy area and a sign on the south side of the road, saying "Trucchi's Landing."
Access & Waters:
Water 'Features' At Site: flatwater/slow moving river
Note: Because one boat launch can access, say, both a lake and a river or both the upstream and downstream portions of a river, not all paddling trips at a given site will necessarily encounter all of the features listed.
Type of Access: Boat launch for hand carried boats
ADA Accessible Boat Launch? no
Shoreline: There is a simple wooden dock that may be helpful at some water levels, but most people will probably choose to launch from the shoreline without using the dock. The shoreline may be a bit muddy at times but does not look too bad.
Float/Dock: low float or dock
Approximate Length of Carry between Car Access and Water: 150 feet
Parking:
Parking: on street, 7 spaces
